Instagram Backtracks After User Privacy Revolt
#TaniaOnTheScene -If you are anything like me, you spent some time yesterday saving your pictures preparing to delete Instagram. But alas, I have some comforting news.
Faced with a loud and angry backlash from some of its most active users, photo-sharing app Instagram backtracked Tuesday on new language that appeared to give the company ownership of their images.
“The language we proposed … raised question about whether your photos can be part of an advertisement,” Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom wrote in a blog post. “We do not have plans for anything like this and because of that we’re going to remove the language that raised the question.”
An update Monday to Instagram’s terms of service had stated that data collected through the app can be shared with Facebook. That’s not a surprising move, considering Facebook paid an estimated $1 billion for the photo-sharing service earlier this year.
But the language that upset some of the app’s more than 100 million users said that “a business or other entity may pay” Instagram for the use of user images and may do so “without any compensation to you.”
That didn’t sit well with some — including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s wedding photographer.

Today on #TaniaOnTheScene I encourage you to support small businesses.
I’m very fortunate to know a lot of people that I consider friends that have done just that.
In fact, I’m striving for the same, so I know what it means to support one another.
It’s exactly as Rick Ross said, “Team work makes the dream work.”
My photographer friend, Charles Rock, has also started his own clothing line, seen above, Harlem Social Tees.

Watch Out Wednesdays: Tania On the Scene Posted on Oct 03, 2012 by Le Belle’s Block
LeBelle’s Block had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Tania from Tania On the Scene. Hailing straight out of NYC Tania is currently working at PIX 11 Morning News in NYC as a traffic producer. This renaissance woman is a force to be reckoned with and because of that I wanted to share more information about her and what she does with you guys! Njoy!
A Little About Tania:
Tania L. Breton, aka “Tania On The Scene,” was born and raised in Springfield Gardens, Queens, NY. After graduating from York College with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Journalism, Tania worked as a staff writer for the college’s paper, “Pandora’s Box.” After three years of dedicating herself to the craft, she worked her way up to becoming the sports editor. While she did enjoy her experience in her editorial role, she still was not entirely satisfied, and yearned for more, beyond the bounds of print journalism. Eventually, she found herself interning at “Transit, Transit” and “WPIX” during her senior year. Her final year of college was when she discovered her passion: broadcast journalism.
From an early age, Tania’s father hosted the first Caribbean sports broadcast show on television, on the QPTV network, “Le Journal Sportif.” So it was only natural that she developed a passion and ease for being in front of the camera. As a scion of the trade, Tania honed her persona by seeking to adopt and perfect the nuances of engaging the camera and cultivating a personality that audiences would embrace. She learned how to carefully cultivate her image “on the job”, and benefited tremendously from being under her father’s tutelage.
