Who to See and Where to be Seen: The Hot Tips for New York Fashion Week
#TaniaOnTheScene - The madness officially begins tomorrow: a week of fashion, partying, and celebrities on the front row. What are the most hotly anticipated shows and social events at this year’s NYFW?
Some things about the bi-annual New York Fashion Week remain reassuringly constant. Local and foreign fashionistas will fill the front rows at the very last minute and dash out when the music is still on. Bloggers and street photographers will clog the entrances of each show incessantly posting to their Twitter and Instagram feeds. And then there will be the hush-hush after parties where only a handful of lucky insiders will be able to mingle with top-models and celebrities and revel until the wee hours.
The 2014 MTV Movie Awards red carpet is one of the most fun events to watch if you’re a fan of fashion: not only do some of the biggest celebs in the biz show up to flaunt their hotness but more often than not, the outfits are remembered for years because of their coolness.
#TaniaOnTheScene - H&M is the mecca of cheap basics, from solid-colored tees for stocking your closet to trendy dresses you’ll wear to death for a season then discard.
It’s not really a place we imagine Lady Gaga shops — but that doesn’t seem to make a difference to Gaga, who is teaming up with the store for the release of her new album, ARTPOP. H&M will carry the album in 175 stores starting today, and this Thursday, Gaga will cut the ribbon at the opening of H&M’s new mega-store in Times Square.
H&M, Hennes & Mauritz, one of the world’s largest retailers known for offering fashion-forward apparel and quality basics, is excited to announce the opening of its new Times Square store in the heart of New York City. The Swedish retailer will enter this bustling iconic destination on Thursday, November 14th at 12:01 a.m. with a ribbon cutting and lighting of the H&M logo on the top of 4 Times Square by global fashion superstar, Lady Gaga.
#TaniaOnTheScene - The fashion world is mourning the loss of the legendary designer, Lilly Pulitzer, who died at the age of 81 on Sunday, April 7 at her house in Palm Beach, Florida. According to a statement on her company’s official Facebook page, Lilly “passed away peacefully” and was “surrounded by family and loved ones.”
“Lilly has been a true inspiration to us and we will miss her,” read the statement. “In the days and weeks ahead we will celebrate all that Lilly meant to us. Lilly was a true original who has brought together generations through her bright and happy mark on the world.”
