#TaniaOnTheScene - The full version of the new Beyonce track ‘Grown Woman’ has finally appeared online.
A snippet of the track debuted in an advert for Pepsi unveiled during the half-time show of this year’s Super Bowl in April.
Beyoncé has unveiled a raft of new song snippets in 2013, including ‘Standing In The Sun’, which features in a television commercial for high street retailers H&M, and ‘Rise Up’, which featured in the trailer for the Disney film Epic. Last month, her cover of Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’, which she recorded with OutKast’s Andre 3000 for the official soundtrack for The Great Gatsby, attracted fierce criticism from Winehouse’s father Mitch, who claimed that Beyoncé brought “nothing” to the song and described Andre 3000’s contribution to the cover as “terrible”. Beyoncé has been performing the full version of ‘Standing In The Sun’ on her ongoing Mrs Carter World Tour, though a full album, widely expected to be released before the run of shows, did not appear.
#TaniaOnTheScene - She comes clean in her new single “Dirty Laundry,” in which Ms. Rowland sings about feeling jealous of Beyonce and being in an abusive relationship.
The lyrics include lines such as, “When my sister on stage/killing it like a motherf**ker/I was in a rage/feeling it like a motherf**ker” and “Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin’ it/Bittersweet she was up, I was down/No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?”
Rowland also sings about being abused by an ex-lover, crooning, “I was battered/He hitting the window like it was me, until it shattered/He pulled me out and said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me/Not your mama, not your daddy, and especially not Bey.”
#TaniaOnTheScene - South Korean rapper and Internet sensation Psy was honored as a transcultural phenomenon by the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday along with a host of other luminaries ranging from choreographer Twyla Tharp to controversial media host Glenn Beck.
Psy — also known as Park Jae-sang — and his newest single have snagged a Guinness world record for the most viewed video online in 24 hours — and it only needed to hit 38 million views to do that.
Since being released almost two weeks ago, “Gentleman” has racked up more than 248 million views compared with “Gangnam Style,” which now has been played a staggering 1.5 billion times. “Gentleman” managed to acquire 100 million views in four days, while it took “Gangnam Style” almost two months to reach the same threshold.
