Former Yankees coach Don Zimmer dead at 83

#TaniaOnTheScene - The Tampa Bay Rays say former major league manager, coach and player Don Zimmer has died. He was 83.

Zimmer died Wednesday. He had been in a rehabilitation center in Florida since having heart surgery in mid-April.

Zimmer spent more than 60 years in baseball. He was a senior adviser for the Rays.

#TaniaOnTheScene - Recently, Haddad Brands, a privately held family business with over 60 years’ experience in the apparel and accessories industry, partnered with the Amar’e Stoudemire’s Foundation for the first annual “Kids Rock!” fashion show. From Levi’s brand, to Converse, Nike, Jordan, Nike SB, the runway show had some of the hottest fashion modeled by celebrity kids on the runway. 

Everyone from La La and Carmelo Anthony, Alexis and Amar’e Stoudemire, Sherri Shepherd, J.R. Smith, Tyson Chandler, and Amber Sabathia (wife of Yankees’ pitcher CC Sabathia) sat front row in support of their kids. Kiyan Anthony, Lil Jon’s son DJ Young Slade, and Angie Martinez’s son Niko Ruffin, were focused as they posed in their favorite brands as their proud parents snapped pics.

Jay-Z to Sell Brooklyn Nets????

#TaniaOnTheScene - Headlines indicating “Jay-Z sell Nets” have hit the internet on Tuesday, April 9, as the rapper and business mogul will apparently eliminate his stake in the Brooklyn Nets. The word is the hip hop star is looking to become more of a sports agent, especially after his recent move to align baseball star Robinson Cano of the Yankees with his label Roc Nation.

The website reported on April 9 that “it appears Mr. Carter will be relinquishing his minority ownership of the nets in order to focus on signing players to his sports agency.” Apparently, Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, will dissolve his ownership in the Nets which currently amounts to less than 1 percent. The rumor is that Jay will try to become a certified NBA agent in time for the 2013 NBA Draft, which takes place in June.
